Different Earring Display

This little project can be done by anyone. It’s a great way to store and display earrings. No more looking for lost earrings! You can see at a glance what you have. I’ve also put pins higher up on the shade. Wouldn’t it look great filled in with misc. jewelry. Maybe I ought to display Claudia’s pins on it.

I looks like it’s down to the base metal on the lamp. Or maybe it was supposed to be that way.

I loved the lamp for the detail. I knew when it was distressed that detail would pop.

The lamp isn’t tall. It’s just the right size for a bedroom or even a bathroom counter top.

Opps! No pictures of the base coat. I used Country White, two coats. Then I put a distressing glaze on it.

I took a large needle, maybe a tapestry needle, and poked holes around the edge of the shade. I made some of them further apart for bigger earrings.

Then just attach your earrings. Even if you don’t like the earrings to wear, they make a great fringe on the shade. The more colorful the earrings, the more colorful the “fringe”.
All done.

Have a great weekend. See you next week at all the wonderful link parties. Can’t wait to see what yall have made.

What a cool idea! I saw a tiny cabinet at Goodwill yesterday with a screen door that would have been perfect for earring and didn’t get it. Am still kicking myself. Also a huge wooden breadbox. But at $8 each at Goodwill, it seems expensive. I’ll bet the same thing at the Country House would be $58 or more! Penny wise, pound foolish! By the way, have been loving your projects for awhile, thank you for sharing! Maravonda

That is a great idea. If I find a small enough lamp to fit on my vanity, I may try this. I like things to be out in the open or I forget what I have.
