My goal for this year is to get this house organized. I moved in here shortly before my divorce. The house Ron and I had was big and had lots of storage. When I moved, I brought way too much stuff for the space. And though I’ve gotten rid of lots of stuff, there is still way too much. I’ve been organizing as best I can, always looking for new storage ideas. This is one project I’ve been putting off and have finally finished. It’s a small thing but every thing I do makes it much easier for the next project.
The spice rack will free up some desparately needed space on shelves. It’s not where it is going to end up. Ron is going to hang it for me today. But I still wanted to show you.
I found the rack at the flea market where our booths are. I loved it the minute I laid eyes on it. But it’s been in storage since I brought it home. You can see the leaf on the bottom shelf. It cleaned up easily and took very little time to paint. I used my favorite Country White after I removed the label holders.
It is going to be the perfect size. Looks like someone else had the same idea as me. The table it’s sitting on is a project Ron is working on. You’ll see it the beginning of next week. LOL We double up on space here. There is hardly room to walk in the kitchen.
Here it is painted.
And here I’ve put the label holders back on it.
I went to Word and found a font I liked and printed some labels.
I haven’t filled the shelves yet. Just wanted you to see that there is so much room on the shelves. What doesn’t fit, will be tossed in the trash. I know there are some spices I haven’t used in a long time and have probably lost their taste by now.
I have to admit to loving the original green but the white looks pretty, crisp and clean. It’s amazing how each little corner organized makes life run so much smoother. Good luck with all the corners!
It’s really too cute. I like the shape of it and how it sits or hangs. I found a different style spice rack and repainted it, but I don’t know what to do with it. Even my vintage spice bottles won’t fit in it. I would like to use it for something, but it’s been hard finding something that will fit!
Have a great weekend!

Stopping by from SNS, this turned out really cute. I like the font you found – I’d like to free up some cupboard space for my spices.
I love it! And the font you chose is right on!
Love this. I have been looking for a spice rack. You did a great job.

It looks so cute! I just bought a spice rack today to “spice” up. I also am a fan of Tony Chacheres. Good stuff! Great makeover!

What an awesome find.
It looks great in white too.
Great job.
That is great. I need something for my spices. I am constantly knocking them over trying to get the ones in the back. I wish I had wall space for something like you have there.
Great job!

Spice Rack
I love the idea that you’ve design your spice rack. The good thing about it is that, it still as enough space for those spices that are big enough to be placed in small spice racks.
