This week was wonderful thrifting. I went out on Friday and on Saturday. Friday I was alone. I felt a little ill so I didn’t plan on staying out long. Yard sales are a great tonic and after going to a couple, I felt fine. Saturday I was much better. Ron and Freedom came with me. We left home very early in the morning to shop a sale being held by one of our flea market dealers. I usually find lots of “have to have” things at his sales, so I was a little disappointed when I didn’t find anything. After his sale, we headed out towards my daughter’s house stopping at sales on the way. Last week, we inadvertently brought home a bag with my Grandson’s soccer jersey in it and needed to drop it off. I still hadn’t found a thing by the time we got to her house. We decided to head for an area where we are usually successful. On the way, we saw a sign for a yard sale and followed it. It ended up being a cul-de-sac sale. At the first sale I bought some books and this roll top desk.
I also found this silver pitcher.
and this small post office box.
At the second sale, I got this wonderful pink bottle and the colorful mirror.
At the last sale I bought a stack of Civil War magazines and a large book on the Civil War for my Grandson. I don’t believe there is one thing about that war he doesn’t know. He’s always been facinated with history. I think now he’s learning all he can about the two world wars.
I also bought this old tin. The woman said her grandmother kept her flour in it.
I made one other purchase on Saturday. I’ve never seen one liter glass coke bottles. Here’s a six pack of them.
Can’t wait to see what goodies you found. What did I ever do for entertainment before yard sales?
I am linking up to the parties at Tales From Bloggeritaville and Coastal Charm. Hope you’ll drop by and say hi.
What an eclectic and wonderful variety of items you found. I love the big red tin! Good junking!
I do like that desk!! I need more room around here.
