Ron and I went thrifting this morning after dropping Freedom off at the groomers. We knew of one yard sale but when we got there didn’t find a thing. So after having breakfast at McDonald’s ( I love their pancakes!) we drove to our Goodwill As Is Store. That’s the store I told you sells everything by the pound. I found a few things there this morning.
I buy any big jars I can find for storing food. Last week I bought a fifteen pound bag of Basmati Rice and most of it will fit in this jar. I’m convinced we’re going to have hyper-inflation. I’ve already seen prices going up. Lately I’ve been trying to stockpile canned and dry foods in preparation. If gas prices rise to $5 a gallon as I’ve read, it will help to not have to buy as many groceries. I’ve already seen some of the grocery stores raising prices. I remember the old Boy Scout motto, be prepared. It won’t hurt.
I love this jar.
I found one of these Nativities last year. My daughter fell in love with it so I gave it to her. It looked so pretty on her hearth this year. I can’t believe I found another today and complete
with all the pieces. This one is mine.
Look at their little faces. Aren’t they sweet?
I also found a box of these tiles. I’m not sure what we’ll do with them, but know a project will come up and we’ll be glad we have them. I normally wouldn’t purchase something so heavy at the As Is store, but once you have fifty pounds, you get a great cut in the cost per pound. I think we only paid 59 cents per pound instead of $1.29. It pays to buy in bulk there.
I didn’t find the next at the store today. It was given to my by a friend of mine. I wanted to show you because it’s cute.
She was made to cover a toaster. I love the dress material. Isn’t she precious? We’re going to another yard sale tomorrow. Maybe I’ll have something else to show you. See you then.
The nativity is sooo cute, and I don’t know what to do with the tiles, but I know you will think of something!

You did find some very thrifty items. I love that big jar and I agree with prices rising, it’s time to stockpile what we can. Love those tiles…very pretty. Good luck tomorrow!
Prices at the groceries here are really going up.:( I am sure you will find a project for those pretty tiles.
Enjoy your weekend.
Every year my son, still in school, spends about 5 dollars on gifts for siblings and he buys a jar like that for his sister in law each year for her pantry, in different sizes…because she had registered for them at her shower. And I agree about the prices going up. LOVE the sweet Nativity! Lezlee
