My sister thinks it’s crazy going to yard sales in the cold and snow. I told her I’m tougher than she is. Neither of us like the cold, but I’m willing to shop yard sales in it. She says she no longer goes thrifting as she ends up bringing too much junk home. She doesn’t want a booth. I like having a booth because I can rotate the stuff in the house when I get tired of it.
Ron and I just rented another booth space in the flea market. We may be a tad nuts since it’s hard enough finding furniture for the booths we have. But we seem to be doing okay. I found the best yard sale yesterday. I actually ran out of money and had to quit shopping. Want to see what I found?
This old cabinet was tucked away in a corner. I looked around the sale before I asked about it. Imagine my surprise when he reduced it by a third. I wanted it.
This grate was found at a different sale. I love cast iron anything.
This sewing cabinet has already been converted to a desk. I love that it’s different from the usual old sewing cabinets. Ron is going to put a brace between the legs and is going to glue some of the veneer that is coming loose. I think I’ll use black paint for the base, but I’m going to leave the top the wood color.
Do you know what these are? They’re the legs on a dining room table. I’m going to paint the legs black on this, too. We have some chairs that will go wonderfully with this table. I can’t wait to finish it. Our new booth will be ready to go next week. We had better get busy.
I’m hoping to find some more sales next weekend. We’ve been very fortunate this winter. We’ve found what we needed. I usually have thrifting withdrawal but this year there have been sales all winter. In just a few weeks, spring will be here and sales will pick up. I cannot wait.
Love that cabinet you got. I love thrifting and yard sales but also have a where do I put it all problem. Maybe I need a booth!
Glad you are doing well at the flea market.
I like the idea turning the old machine base into a desk. I have one of the old machines with everything still intact, that once belonged to my great aunt. My daughter has it right now – may never see it again.
Has your snow melted yet?
Enjoy your evening.

Cute cabinet…even more, I love the cast iron grate! that thing looks so awesome!
I have a problem with where to put it all myself.
I’ve thought of having a booth– but I have separation anxiety I guess. I know, I know — it’s just stuff and more will come along, but I get attached so easily!
love the sewing table, i even like that color blue.
